Erato Q & A
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS minority

Erato (Auto Harp) Inside

I got a mail from Musician in Sweden.

The musician name is Alan Waller.

Q:Alan

I believe your notes say the strings are tuned for full chromatic scale, C C# D D# etc for three octaves.

Now I study your pictures again.

I believe each button moves its bar one string further, raising its chord by one semitone. Or by two semitones. I wonder, what are the chords I - XII when they are not raised?

A:Junichi

I-XII bar = major,minor and seventh chords.

This harp has 12major+12minor+12seventh.

Q:Alan

I found your page and good pictures of the Erato.

I try to understand Erato chord system but I am not successful.

Would you like to explain for me?

A:Junichi

This system is very simple.

Please see under pictures.
